TOON FLAGS

Went to St James Park to see the match this afternoon. Newcastle were playing Crystal Palace. Bit of a shock early on as Palace scored after 30 seconds. Quickest goal I have ever seen. Newcastle got a goal back at 36 mins to level things. First half ended 1 - 1. Palace scored again not long into the second half but Newcastle managed to level the score yet again after 72 mins. Newcastle scored again at 87 mins - score was now 3 - 2. We just had to hang on to the lead before the final whistle. However the ref added on 7 mins of extra time which was nail biting hoping Palace wouldn't score. But they DID - at 94 mins. So the final score was 3 - 3. Such a disappointment.

The August Challenge today is Shapes and Shadows so here is a shot of the 2 large flags which get paraded around St James Park before kick off. The sun was out so plenty of shadows today. In fact St James Park was a real sun trap this afternoon and I had to take my jacket off.

Did a bit of food shopping in Waitrose and Tesco before coming home. Quiet evening watching TV - including X Factor.

30 years ago today I gave birth to THIS LITTLE LAD. He is aged 22 months in this photo. Now he looks like THIS. Still smiling. Haven't seen him today as he has been at work and this evening he is celebrating with friends. He is coming here after work tomorrow though.
