Big Beach Busk

Thanks to WhiskyFoxtrot for the alert about today's Big Beach Busk at Portobello. I thought I'd had enough of buskers after their annual invasion of the High Street during the Festival Fringe, but this was more of a neighbourhood event. Instead of people covered in bronze paint pretending to be statues or swallowing swords, locals were showcasing their party pieces.

The focus was on enjoying themselves rather than making money, though some of the youngsters in particular were raking it in. One lad, aged about nine, was playing his drum kit with gusto. Whenever anyone tossed a coin into his hat, three of his mates sidled over to check exactly how much had been donated to gang funds.

The guys in the photo weren't singing this song. The only tenuous link is that they're also wearing hats. But I've been waiting for the chance to post this, so hey ho.
