New Addition

There's a new addition to the wildlife scene in Bakewell, this lovely little heron.
He (I presume he is he looks like a he) has taken up residence just below the footbridge on the way over to Smiths Island.
He doesn't seem at all concerned about all the attention he's getting from all the visitors and this afternoon we spent a good 30 mins watching him before a walk around the recreation ground.
He was still there when we returned and was even closer to his fans on the riverside.
I hope he' going to be alright as he didn't seem to adept at catching fish and almost toppled over when he started to walk around.
I've decided to call him Derick!
