Looking south-east

... towards Glasgow from Drymen.

It was a warm and sunny day for my lunch date in The Winnock with friend Alison. The village was busy and for once we didn't have the hotel's dining-room to ourselves, but the meal was very good as usual : egg and prawn salad, sirloin of beef and lemon tart.

This evening I watched a fascinating programme about the building of the Forth Road Bridge, which had been filmed 50 years ago by a gent I recognised as a patron of Drymen Library. It was a real surprise to realise he had played such an important part in documenting the construction of the historic bridge.

Did anyone watch Countryfile and see the entries for the calendar competition? My favourite was 'Piglets on Parade'.
