Life with The Pinks

By suzypink

Evening

We had a day at Walberswick and Southwold. We had a picnic on the beach, and had another game of beach Frisbee with Miss Peppa. She is a bit scared of the water, but she actually dipped a toe in today, so another first for her. After the beach we tried some crabbing, it reminded me of my childhood. My Dad used to take us to Southwold camping, and we'd spend ages crabbing using scraps of fish from the trawlers as they came in. It was good fun then, but I'm sure we used to catch a lot more than we did today. We got 1 and 1 fell off. humph! We'll try again another day though, as Master Pink seemed to be enjoying it. Miss Pink and I built a palace from rocks on Southwold beach. The princess was living in the castle, with craggy rocks all around it, to protect her from the nasty dragon. She had a boat ready to escape to though.
In the evening we had a "campfire" in a firepit we hired from the campsite. They delivered it along with the logs. Master Pink shared his knowledge of "backward cooking" and was most disappointed that we weren't lighting the fire with a flint and stone. It was ok though as we had giant marshmallows to toast and hot chocolate to drink before bedtime. It was a magical evening, and a fab experience for the mini pinks.
