Gulls on the nest

I took my telephoto and extender this morning intending, after I had been for my morning swim, to capture an image of the gulls nesting in the castle ruins above Dunbar Harbour. There are a lot fewer birds around at this time of year. When they are breeding the cliffs are literally full of them with all every nook and cranny occupied. Today it was more a bit like watching paint dry waiting for the moment when you would capture a little bit of action. I was pleased to get my little splash of red today, which I assume in the birds tongue,
