Welcome Home! Park of Keir

This is the best Welcome home present I could ever wish for!
Our campaign to protect the Greenbelt between Bridge of Allan and Dunblane – in other words Judy Murray’s dream tennis centre and executive houses- has crashed the Council web-site with letters of objections.

I couldn’t believe our luck when I saw this poster outside our local newsagent.

Over 600 letters had been sent in and the site could only cope with 500.
Those in favour were less than a handful.

When we stated this campaign a few weeks ago we never dreamt we would get this response.

We hoped we might get a 100 letters protesting about the tennis centre, 6 hole golf course, Murray museum, hotel and 100 executive houses.

But, as the campaign gathered momentum, Stirling Council had to extend the deadline.

The web-site is now back up but they are no longer putting the letters up only the names of people objecting.

What’s more the Council’s own planning policy department have submitted their response and it is damning.
We are delighted to see that we have been vindicated on planning grounds.
For the developers had used two sporting celebrities- Judy Murray and Colin Montgomery- in an attempt to ride roughshod over every planning policy you could think of.

With all the publicity this application has had it would now seem very unlikely that Stirling Council could see their way to pass it.
