Something Extraordinary Is Happening

I don't think the billboards at Haymarket have anything to do with the referendum campaign but the centre of Edinburgh this afternoon was full of people campaigning ahead of the #indyref. Most were for Yes. I spoke to a couple of people at different stalls - both, like me, disillusioned with Labour, neither fans of the SNP or Alex Salmond but both sensing a shift in opinion in the last two weeks. Neither were members of any political party - one was local, and the other had come through on the train from Fife for the day to get involved. Grassroots involvement. Talking to people on the street. Lots of small conversations about people's concerns and questions. Something extraordinary indeed.
