Life is like a river

Strange looking people, those Edinburghians?

Our first day in Edinburgh greeted us with a sunny morning and we had breakfast at Pep&Fodder near our hotel because that's where we were going to meet Jon, a local Blip-friend, for some chat and sightseeing. It was so very nice to meet him in person and we had a splendid time while getting to know the city center, hearing some great stories and seeing the the most popular sights - and also a few places we would probably have missed if he hadn't pointed them out. His blip for the day was our family portrait on Calton Hill (a bit tired looking, I must admit we were not fully awake after all the travelling yesterday). Thank you so much for your time, Jon, and it was great meeting you! Hope we can return the favor in Iceland some day, you and Lorraine really must come and stay with us here in Akureyri for a few days :)
We said good-bye to Jon in Princes Street Gardens and sat down for a quick sandwich while people watching (my favourite pastime, especially when I'm abroad or away from home) and deciding what to do next.
As you can see from the photo Edinburgh is obviously a colorful place, full of interesting characters and buzzing with energy at this time of year!
Daníel decided to go and find the Fringe-ticket office and get our tickets printed for some of the shows we are going to see while we're staying in Edinburgh.
We found it somewhere on the Royal Mile and after walking some more through the city center (and admiring the interior of St. Giles Cathedral for a while) we decided to go and see Richard Wiseman's show "Spoken Word" at The Voodoo Rooms.
We had dinner in an awful Italian Restaurant and then used the last molecules of energy to walk and see a bit more of the city before going to sleep.
