Mango

This is one of our greenhouses where improved variety mango have beed grafted onto local rootstock. The local mango seeds are sown in polythene tubes, they have grown and now the grafts have taken as you can see. The little plastic bags prevent water escaping from the graft.
Besides this work other life goes on, as you will see from part of Alepher's report:

LUSANGAZI FARM SUPERVISION AND MONITORING

1. Fruit tree production(Nursery)
➢ Mr Felix explained that the scions that were budded were 1200 seedlings where the scions came from Mwanza, 1040 have taken up making a 86.8%
➢ 1008 Avocado pears are ready to be grafted
➢ We need more pawpaws to surpass our target
➢ They need more potting tubes for guavas

2.Upper Orchard
➢ The upper orchard half of it has been mulched and I found workers watering the trees
➢ Almost 100% of the diseases has been eliminated because they sprayed the orchard.

3.Lower Field
➢ The lower field is looking very well
➢ Most of the seeds you brought have taken up
➢ An apple orchard has been planted and with proper care it will be very handy to get our scions
➢ Most drains have been cleared so that the place looks wonderful and the plants receive a good supply of water.

Surpassing my most challenging target.
We set a target of 25,000 while I was hoping to achieve 15,000
but it looks like we have over 28,000 already.

Amazing work being done.
