Dogface

I have shot Cyclorama Point, west of Katoomba, before but not in a while. When the afternoon sun hits this feature, it lights up as if it was part of a huge stage set. In 1931 a whole section of the escarpment at that location slid rather calamitously into the valley below forming a great mound known as the "Landslide". The abseiling community calls the actual cliff by the name of Dogface and that's the term which is used these days more than any other - if only because most people wouldn't know what a "cyclorama" is, I guess. You'll notice that they have recently erected a cable barrier at this point but I don't reckon it's likely to prevent any visitors going where they oughtn't.
