Saturday 6 February 2010: Red winged Blackbirds
on the handrail of the boardwalk at the Wakodahatchee wetlands. It was a cool, windy day, but saw lots of birds. A couple Great Blue Herons' nests have babies already, and Anhingas are feeding huge, demanding youngsters. saw two Sand Hill Cranes fly over, but they didn't land- have never seen them this far south before- always see them around Lake Kissimmee and further North. Also saw a Kingfisher, which I usually only see when we're camping away from the city areas. Couldn't get close enough, never get close enough to Kingfishers for a good shot, although I've tried for years.
