Rocky Mountain Reflection.

These are not the most splendid mountains we have seen today or yesterday for that matter but they are the only ones I managed to get in my reflection!

This is just below Pyramid Lake, which wasn't as reflective, a few miles outside Jasper in the NP. We had gone out there as it was suggested that early evening was a good time to see wildlife but we didn't see anything.

On the outskirts of Jasper we have seen lots of Elk, all on the roadside. This morning we went to Maligne Canyon and then on to Maligne Lake where you are warned for 22km that there are Caribou around. We didn't see any but some Mule deer were busy eating again at the side of the road. (The Caribou herd here is one of the few protected herds and they are in decline)

We were quite high at Maligne Lake and there was snow amongst the trees, the pines looking very Christmassy with their branches sprinkled with snow.
No blue sky this morning the cloud was low and as it lifted there had been fresh snowfall on most of the high mountains.

The cloud has, hung around all day as there has been no wind, hence these mirror like lakes.
The reflections could be more complete but I'm afraid I'm just not tall enough!

Just looked at the map again and realised we went to the totally wrong place! Never mind at least I saw these roadside pools. Mountains all clear now, quite a chilly evening.
