Mindcraft Mind

There are some occasions when I know for certain that I am "past it". Before heading off for school the kids were allowed to show me their new "Minecraft Server". Mind you I still don't know what that means ... exactly ... but the two kids sure seemed to.

They each have their separate laptops and (once logged in) they were each caught up and locked into what seemed to be an entirely alternative real time universe. They were almost instantly in contact with each other's avatars and those of a dozen or more other kids from heaven only knows where. Buildings were being built, holes were being dug, boxes were being opened, structures were being knocked down, avatars were co-operating to do a myriad of bewildering tasks and a complex multi-way text conversation was happening at the bottom of the screen every step of the way. The kids were in a constant state of frenzied activity (their hands and eyes seemingly moving of their own volition) doing ..... I am not exactly sure what. It's all a bit of a worry really.

Here is Cooper ... totally absorbed by Minecraft. Oh dear!!
