Our daughter has a school project on Mary Queen of Scots, so we popped over to Holyrood Palace to instill in her all the necessary historical context to excel with her research. I'm pretty sure we didn't mention anything about playing "tig" with her little brother. Anyway, she assures us she's made all the necessary sketches and notes so, I presume, a gold-star is practically inevitable.

There were also lots of loud marching-band noises while we were at the palace. I was nosey to find out what it was all about and just saw this young lad from one of the marching-bands sitting all by himself in front of the parliament building. Anyway, this is my attempt at reportage photojournalism.
