Afternoon tea

I spent the morning in the windowless kitchen baking two types of cakes, eating too much icing and listening to non-stop referendum programming on Radio 4. By lunchtime I was ready to opt out of voting all together, it had all got a bit much.

Luckily some welcome distractions arrived in the form of friends and their kids. A lovely afternoon with not too much political debate, lots of catching up and cups of tea. Gregory (4) entertained us all with his fearless balance bike riding following testing both types of cakes, he also got a go on Andy's skateboard tearing up the streets of Morningside. The effect that sugar has on kids never fails to amaze me!
