Going for a Song...

This montage shows the scene at The Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock on Monday night as singer-songwriter, Yvonne Lyon, held her latest Absent Voices songwriting workshop.
What a setting! Who would not be inspired by looking out of these big picture windows to the Firth of Clyde on a beautiful warm September night?
One of the great things about the Absent Voices project has been the way in which the eight artists involved in the project have interacted. AV artists, Rod Miller and Kevin McDermott, were also at this workshop.
Kevin has many many years of songwriting experience under his belt and it's wonderful to be able bring that sort of experience to the party!
On Saturday, Yvonne was drawing away at the Tobacco Warehouse Open Doors event with fellow AV'er, Annie McKay and Scotland's Makar (national poet), Liz Lochhead.
Liz is working with AV artist, Alastair Cook, on various strands for the project.
We also have many new friends – fired up by the whole Absent Voices experience – attending the various workshops, be they drawing or songwriting.
