Star Burst

I bought this star burst filter, which attaches to my G1X. I hope that I get to like it. Any hints about how to use it properly?

Many many thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts for my sunrise photo yesterday. I love photographing sunrises, as the colours can be so beautiful, and it is a very quiet time of the day with no one about.

Only 3 of us turned up for croquet, we had one game, then headed for home. My sausage dish in the slow cooker was a big hit.
