Thumbs Up for Striders

Northern Relays held by English Athletics in Birchwood.

The creme of Northern running was there , I wouldn't say the field was fast but even some of our club's superb runners were crapping it .

I think the top teams must have had wings or something, their feet didn't even touch the ground and as for breathing , they didn't seem to bother with something as trivial as that , would waste too much time !

Still, when it comes to cheesy team photos ours wins by a mile.

Lessons learnt today

1 : remember to lose a couple of stone and a couple of decades before entering anything like this again

2 : once above body modifications are complete then invest in some racing knickers . Knickers FFS !! Some women had knickers on smaller than a mouse's handkerchief AND they had the audacity to look amazing in them .

3: when your team captain is on his leg please take notice and cheer him on . We all forgot and were too busy eating , chatting and recovering . We were that charming !

A grand day but the combination of the relay and parkrun before that this morning means I am glued to my sofa - although that may be the bag of sweets I sat on ( sweets- told you I was committed to the 2 stone weight loss )

Thanks Saltaire Striders - you rock .

In other news a fellow blipper did a very very kind thing for me today- you know who you are x
