Highlighted

In the forest a shaft of sun highlighted this stem of hedge bedstraw, with its repeating whorls of leaves. It was a quiet moment in a weekend of report wrtitng, map drawing and taxiing offspring. I was alone on my walk as Rosie has been poorly today - off her food and unwilling to move from her bed. I'm not sure whether she has an infection or whether she damaged herself on yesterday's walk, but I think we'll be visiting the vet tomorrow...
