Artist at work!

Jane and I spent the day together and had such a fabulous time. First we visited a lovely woman who breeds Portuguese water dogs, she is contemplating getting one next year. Then we headed out to Fortress of Louisburg, and spent a few hours in the sunshine, wandering around taking photographs, chatting and at this time of year the place was virtually deserted. that made for a nice change from the last time i visited it in July a few years ago.....really overrun by tourists at that point. So this was such a treat, and the views were spectacular. We stopped at a place we both thought would be interesting to sketch. I'm not at all experienced in En Plaine Air painting so i learned a lot from Jane who has lots of experience! We sketched then she started putting down some water colour. i was finding it all a bit tricky....see here to see how i coped with the lack of somewhere to sit! I'm sitting in that wee wheelbarrow you see in this shot...Jane laughed so hard when she saw me sitting there so she took that shot!

We had a delightful dinner in Sydney and all in all it was just a wonderful day to spend together!
