Friday 19 February 2010: Cuteness

I almost posted something else so as not to have yet another cat blip, but in the end this was just too cute to pass up. A sun-warmed kitty is a very relaxed kitty.

I spent nearly an hour out in the yard today, pulling weeds in the herb garden and then standing and sitting still to watch the birds. I found that if I stand extremely still they will begin to come back to the trees and the feeders as if I were not there. It got tiring though so I eventually sat and read and watched the birds. I got to see the woodpecker call twice, see and hear the male finch calling, and watch tons of little Oregon juncos eating. Ever since I put out the black sunflower seeds it seems the birds don't want to eat any of the plain old regular seed.
