Peaceful morning, jazzy afternoon

This morning I was at a coffee morning at Georgetown Library in Dumfries. It was laid on by the Peacemakers Club, which meets there every other Saturday. My friend Venus has set this up for children, mostly of primary age. Its aim is to promote friendship and peaceful cooperation. This is a poster they had made which was on display. Timely, when MPs are voting to go to war in our name.
This afternoon I was at the Lockerbie Jazz Festival's "Take 5". For the princely sum of £5 you could enjoy an afternoon of wonderful music, mostly from local groups, in a variety of styles, from Big Band to more sultry jazz numbers, and the Community Choir blasting out Pulp and New Order in between. Excellent catering by Hullabaloo - nice veggie gumbo!
