Leafless in Seattle

or should it be Sleepless in Rippingale?

Back on the 14th we welcomed our new pear tree to the garden but unfortunately no sooner was than it planted it picked up a ‘black leaf’ fungus. We tried to find the cause and what to do, and appears that it picked up some spores either on the way over or when it got here, and the only thing to do is to burn the leaves, preferably when they fall off the tree.

Today we sped up the falling off and disposed of the blackened (and other) leaves, so now the poor little thing is standing naked in our front garden . . .

The photo was a bit boring, so I enhanced it a little.
