The Flying Scotsman

Off to the launch of Stirling's NextBike cycle hire scheme this afternoon, a fantastic joint project linking the City, train station, Forth Valley College and Stirling University with a high-tech bike hire system.

Some of our students, ably assisted and encouraged by fellow blipper HK, worked on a project to brand the fleet of bikes and the winner was presented with some goodies for her successful submission today. Some street entertainment in the late September sunshine, a ribbin cutting ceremony for the Scottish Minister for Transport and a supportive speech from World Champion cyclist Graeme Obree - The Flying Scotsman - all got the scheme off to an encouraging start.

Hopefully this is the start of something positive for the area, and it goes from strength to strength.

Sneaked a selfie with Graeme Obree and a couple of students, including our Ash the winning designer, when we headed back to the Stirling Cycle Hub for some cake.
