Honeysuckle Wholefoods

In Oswestry we are lucky to have a lot of independent shops. This is my favourite, Honeysuckle Wholefoods, a co-operative that sells a huge variety of foods including lots of local produce, breads and spices giving it a deliciously distinctive smell.

They pack a lot of the goods themselves so quantities large and small can be bought. When I've struggled to find an ingredient in supermarkets I've often found it in Honeysuckle.

They used to have a lovely big old fashioned wooden till on the counter. Unfortunately they had a break in and it was stolen and never recovered so now they work amounts out on paper and put the money in a drawer. They don't give carrier bags - they have surplus cotton bags which they charge for but the money goes into the charity box. A great idea I think.
