Kete

Kete are traditional maori baskets made by weaving the leaves of New Zealand flax.

This small example is less than 10cm wide, so this was shot with my 75-150mm f/3.5 lens with a close-up lens attached to my Fuji X-E1.

This hybrid Fuji-Nikon set up is my preferred macro kit, and for what it's worth, I reckon it does a great job. I love the ability to 'focus peak' with the Fuji - it makes manual focusing with the Nikon lens easy as!

I decided to shoot this as a bit of an emergency blip; my usual starlight emergency route is off the table tonight due to the fact it's blowing like the proverbial outside and I don't fancy wrestling with a tripod in the wind! So the kete it is then....
