A Winding Path

It was a definite shock to the system to find after the driest September in Edinburgh since 1910 that October had made its entrance accompanied by a fine drizzle and a cooler air.
It didn't last however as the new month finally got its act together and produced the sun. The students and tourists were soon out and about without coats and sometimes even sleeves.

As I passed down the Telfer steps from the Mound to Princes Street, I noticed this winding path in Princes Street Gardens leading my eye to the arches of the distant North Bridge.

Home and the first soup of the winter is cooking- butternut squash, potato and onion from the Lady Findhorn cook book.
I will be sole taster at lunchtime as His Lordship is off in the hills hobnobbing with a Lord Lieutenant in some remote Peebleshire Glen.
