My topsy-turvy life

Let it Bie

Our last day in Jersey...boooo!

Our flight wasn't until 6 o'clock so we had a nice relaxed morning and paid a visit to La Hougue Bie, a neolithic passage grave -on the bottom- and a medieval chapel on top of the mound -on the top-.

The neolithic grave was amazing and thankfully lit slightly inside, though that didn't stop me nearly cracking my skull open on the roof of the passage. It was even too low for me!

There's also a Nazi bunker that they've turned into a memorial to all the forced -slave- labourers that built all the occupation buildings in the war. It was nice to get back out into the sunlight after that.

We had a great few days in Jersey, getting around the island, being historical, lazing in bars by the beach, eating black butter, walking a lot, trying Liberation Ale, eating far far too much and...finally seeing a field full of Jersey cows next to La Hougue Bie this morning -result!
