welcome to October

a dull morning, a blazing afternoon, a still mild night ..

We worked in our terribly neglected vegetable garden, we got one bed cleared and dug and planted garlic and some winter onions. Did some mowing. Juiced and froze the best of the very last of the Cox's and Katys, and set aside all the others for our daughter who is making apple cider vinegar. We picked the entire crop of six apples from the four year old Elstar - very scrumptious and it's a start I suppose.

In between I was playing with Lightroom, I'm getting the hang of it now and some more of the sunset pictures from last night can be seen here if anyone's interested.

I finally got out for a walk this evening, I got to Rosscarbery just in time to see the reflections of a fiery sunset, and then walked down to the beach and back in the twilight.
A quick Skype chat with the girl finished off the day nicely, especially as she had the news that she has a new job - in the shard.
