Black Mountains: Gospel Pass

Can you see the Breacon Beacons in large ("L")?
Back blip

After a quick amble into Eaton Bishop, we drove to Hay-on-Wye just over the border in Wales. Famous for its book festival, it is a rather fun place full of bookshops and windy little streets, and (seemingly) lacking any chain shops. We had lunch in Richard Booth's Bookshop (where there is a very nice café/restaurant) before driving back to Herefordshire via the Gospel Pass over the Black Mountains. We stopped at the Llanthony Priory (ruins) and Cwnyoy Church (a very bent and twisty church which seems to be sliding down a hillside, having been built on the remains of a landslide...).

I've uploaded other shots to Flickr.
My Herefordshire and Wales album is here.
My photos that I took on this day are right from Eaton Bishop church.
