Musandam

We have come to the top of the Arabian peninsula for Eid. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Abu Dhabi (not including the 2 hours at the border crossing).

Geographically, the Musandam peninsula juts into the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow entry into the Persian Gulf, from the Arabian Peninsula. The Musandam peninsula is an exclave of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates.

The Musandam Peninsula is located on the northern border of the Sultanate of Oman. The high mountains in this region rise for more than two thousand metres above sea level, the area is also known for its fiords.

We are staying in one of the new hotels, the only downside is the hotel is non-alcoholic
