Early Blooms

As predicted, the rain came after a very blowy night but the garden has survived.

I can't believe the Mahonia is starting to flower already, I'm sure when I bought it I expected flowers in January but it seems to be earlier and earlier every year. I've uttered these words before, and, if the trend continues, will probably repeat them next year.

The bright yellow spikes make a cheerful sight on a winter's day, the only problem I forsee is the necessity to prune it (after flowering) will be sometime over Christmas instead of in Spring.
