Northern Exposure

By Northern

Passing snow

A wall of white came from Northern shores.

It ate up the land,
then swallowed the sea.

Moved slowly and steadily
bleaching the colour from the evening.

The day faded from summer sky
to bruised lilac and green
then midnight blue
as the white moss turned day to night.

It's gone now. Heading south.

Leaving the stars to glister on the ground.
