The Edge of the Wold

Catch

Gus has a new ball, and as a rare treat we took it out with us today on his lunchtime walk. With a collie's tendency to obsessive behaviours, he has to be rationed or else he gets too distracted by chasing after it. He's come on a lot in 21 months, he didn't know what to do with a ball at first, and he is gradually getting more coordinated at catching, though more often than not it bounces off his nose. This photo also show how much his teeth have improved from the heavily tartared fangs he had when he first came, the vet wanted to take some out, but Wifie wisely resisted.

The weather overnight was wet, though there wasn't the downpour we were warned to expect. Then as the day went on the sky cleared and we had a clear but cool afternoon. The rains knocked down the senescing autumn leaves, and there were deep carpets this morning. In the garden the fallen leaves are adding to the difficulty of locating Reg, tomorrow we may need to call in the tortoise dowser.

Earlier today I posted a backblip of our brief trip to Bari in Italy.

ps There he is again a year ago.
