Sunrise, Loch Lomond

I had an early start from home as I was due to give evidence to this morning's session of the Scottish Parliament's Education Committee about Curriculum for Excellence and the recent , successful, first diet of new exams.

It was a misty morning in Glendaruel but the sunrise over Loch Lomond was spectacular.

The committee session was pretty good too - only one relentlessly negative Labour member who just wanted to posture rather than engage with the hard but important task of continuous educational improvement which should involve detailed and extensive support for teachers , pupils and parents from all of us.
