U-Bahn München: 41/100 Josephsplatz

Munich underground: 41/100 Josephsplatz

Yet another underground station. And yet another station along the U2 line. But this time it is one from the bad old days - design-wise. Josephsplatz underground station was opened in 1980 and therefore is one of the stations of the original U2 (then U8) line. There are many similarities in the architecture and design with e.g. Hohenzollernplatz underground station (Josephsplatz's northern neighbour) or the stop at Innsbrucker Ring. The newer stations along the line (like Hasenbergl to the north or Josephsburg to the east) are much more sophisticated architecturally.

The undeground stop at Josephsplatz is also the station with the shortest distance to a neighbouring underground station in the Munich network (the Theresienstraße stop is only 513 metres to the south).

Slowly but surely I have a lot of examples to compare station with others of the respective lines.

This station needed a train in motion again to make it a subject worth photographing.
