90 degrees south

via the Northern line , which is where this was taken!
Went to a club night at 'The Camera Club' in Kennington to see the film' 90 degrees south'. This was made by Herbert Ponting, initially as a silent movie but later he added music and a commentary by himself. The photography is a mixture of movie clips and stills , mainly by Ponting, but with some taken by Scott himself on the last bit of the expedition. The photography was very impressive and moving especially considering the conditions in which he worked, on glass plates, in freezing conditions and with some taken by moonlight during the winter months when there was no light.
The club has one of his original prints, but then having been established in 1885 it has had a number of famous photographers though its doors.
