Community orchard fruit

Today was the annual Community Orchard Day in the village. We had posters out and it was announced in the local newsletter, but the wet weather over the past week made engaging with people in person in the village on a Saturday morning harder and the forecast was terrible - so numbers were down this year.

We arrived at midday and set-up stall, and it threatened to rain once or twice, but by the time everything started I forgot to put my coat on and didn't notice that it turned out to be a beautiful day. We sold fruit cakes, jams and single variety apple juices. We gave a load of baking apples away from the other side of the village and engaged people in conversation. Today's back-blip is a plate of apples - these are the leftovers from the apple tasting. Fear not they didn't go into the bin, at home they were trimmed up and turned into a large helping of apple sauce!

After dinner and apple sauce for desert we watched the new foreign crime/drama series on BBC4.

Overall a good day except some Herbert stole our sign and the bungee cords holding it in place... Not pleased about that...
