I Got His Back!

Big R spoke before the King County Council's open hearing on the proposed new budge, and as others, was only allotted two minutes....an absurd limited time to address the injustices of this proposal.

Big R was representing the Public Defenders and their objections to the proposals plans by the County Executive to virtually gut the entire public defense system and privatize it. He spoke passionately to the constitutional right to representation, to the premiere national reputation of the present public defense system here, and to the real areas of waste. Those being the bureaucratic structural policies with their volumes of flow charts, and the massive technological overhaul that has been costly and truly unnecessary . New bureaucratic procedures and policies that drain away actual hours of client times similar to the B.S. that handcuffs our teachers and our health care workers too. The real losses here are ones the poor and middles class will bear when their services are cut. These county executive proposals attack the very people they are supposed to serve. The ones who daily struggle to keep afloat as it is.

No proposed cuts at the top....no surprises there.
