A tiny island

Jersey may be a tiny speck on the map, but the island has given its name to a breed of cow, a potato, a pullover, a lily and a state in America.....

I really like that quote from the tourist guide for Jersey. The HG and I have arrived here for a week's exploring, never having been here before. Jersey lies in the Bay of Mount St. Michel, just 14 miles from the Normandy coast. My picture is of Liberation Square, which seems to be the centre of the town of St. Helier. St. Helier is much more built up than we had expected, and looks like a fair sized place. Our hotel seems to be in a good position, being ten minutes walking from the bus station, which we will use a lot to get around.

The weather is lovely...... we are really looking forward to exploring......
