it's about the lines

today's photography class we talked about composition: specifically about the main line: that is, where is/are the subject/s (within the picture) looking -- and does this affect the emotional tone? Something I hadn't thought about very much -- the "gaze" - looking up? looking down? looking into or out of the frame? looking out at the viewer?

this scene caught my eye with this couple gazing at each other and everyone else gazing at their phones.....
