Bacteria

My colleague C is a lecturer in microbiology. I visited her office this afternoon to discuss some joint work on women in science. I was very taken by the knitted bacteria that she keeps on her desk. Here we have e-coli, cholera, salmonella, and tuberculosis. C let me bring cholera home with me (!) In exchange I gave her some scraps of wool when she dropped me off back at my flat after work. These will be transformed into more bacteria :-)

This evening our friends T and S came over for dinner. Mr hazelh cooked venison stew and a (home-grown) rhubarb and apple crumble. It was a good evening. The others provided excellent therapy for me after a rather tough week.

Exercise today: walked to work (1 hour).
