AR2192, the large group to the left, unleashed an X1 class flare at 5 o'clock this morning. As it was not Earth-facing the event will pass us by. Whilst around the other side of the Sun this group has been very active and as it rotates towards a more central position on the Sun's surface any flares are more likely to be directed towards us.
