Special Delivery

A while ago I bought a journal quilt from Friedaquilter. Today it was delivered – by hand!

Frieda came to visit and brought the quilt with her. We had a lovely day, which included a walk to the little church in a field that Frieda was very keen to see. We were both very taken with the huge piece of oak panelling surrounding an ornate priest’s door. It is speculated that this came from an old vestment chest, but we felt that some of the images were distinctly secular and even pagan. I focused on the two dragon-like creatures. I think Frieda might be blipping another character from the carving.

The weather didn’t look too good as we set off across the fields towards the church; it was very cloudy and misty over the hills. But the rain held off and, as we came out of the church, we noticed a sudden burst of sunshine lighting up the trees and in the distance a farmer was moving a large flock of sheep. We were a bit concerned that one was being left behind. See large.

The rain held off until we got back to the car . . . and then there was a rainbow.

Thank you for the delivery Frieda and a lovely day in your company.
