The Hole with the Mint in it

A tour around the area that I used to live this morning before picking up the boxes and bags used to move my daughter down to Cardiff.

I took a trip around Llantrisant, famous for 2 things - the home of the Royal Mint (hence it's local name of the hole with the mint in it), and also being the home of Dr William Price, who was instrumental in the establishment of the Cremation Act, following his performing open air cremations. He also married his housekeeper, 59 years his junior, who gave him 2 sons, the first died before the second was born. They were both named Iesu Grist (the Welsh for Jesus Christ). A controversial character in his time.
