Intrepid explorers

Got the day off to a great start with breakfast and showtunes at the highly entertaining Stardust Diner, then set off in search of the USS Intrepid.

Of course, one of the best things about the New York grid system is that it's hard to get lost, and in this case I knew we just had to follow 46th street. Unfortunately, it turned out we'd followed it in the wrong direction; this is how the boys reacted when I told them we were on the wrong side of Manhattan.

Mo was kind enough to say she'd always wanted to see the UN building, which made me feel slightly less stupid.

When we finally got there, the Intrepid was excellent; an aircraft carrier with a submarine moored alongside, cool planes and even a space shuttle: what's not to like?

Spent ages looking round, before heading back to Times Square for a burger and a trip on the ferris wheel in Toys R Us.
