Dogwood

Felt like a "play" this afternoon, had been busy catching up inside then spraying the lawn for Onehunga Weed and then some Roundup....everything seems to be growing in a hurry including the weeds. So really ready to sit and have fun for half and hour.

Had picked these little dogwood branches on my walk, well they were hanging onto the roadside and it was a very big tree! Just love the shape of the flowers and the bare branches with the new growth just appearing.

Played with layers and textures to get that painterly look. I am always amazed at how a few textures in different colours can give an image such a different look.

Also getting organised for our Lake Tarawera Spring Fair, this Sunday. It's held on a lakeside reserve and with almost all the bach's and homes full with people taking advantage of a long weekend at the start of summer, they all seem to come along to the fair and catch up after the winter. There are lots of stalls with arts, crafts and food stuffs as well as a great fundraising day for the some of the local communities like the Sailing Club and the Playcentre. I am having a stall and have some large prints done on aluminium, as well as cards and my tui books. The photography is all local Tarawera scenes which has a captive audience! And the forecast is for a sunny day...yeah!
