Desert Sky

I spent the day at open studio with Trish Harding, my teacher, and a group of painters who all happen to be gals. That isn't true of the Thursday group, but Wednesday it's the ladies. And we all had a great time. Everybody was doing really wonderful work. I was working on my little acrylic painting (10X8 inches). It is much closer to being finished. I decided I wanted the focus to be on the sky so I used an ultramarine blue glaze to tone down all the land areas. I still have a bit to do to calm the land areas and bring out the sky. I am finding acrylics to be quite a challenge after oils. But I'm having fun. That's the good part.
