Life is like a river

Photos all day long

After work I walked through town with my camera and snapped a few photos along the way. In the afternoon I met a group of friends from ÁLFkonur photography club at Hof. We had some coffee and took a better look at the ÁLKA exhibition "Náttúran".
After dinner I attended a meeting in ÁLKA photography club at Minjasafnið / Akureyri Museum. Hörður Sigurgeirsson, a member of ÁLKA and a curator of the photographic department of Akureyri Museum, invited us to come and see an exhibition of his wet plate photographs. He is Iceland's only wet plate
photographer and this method had not been used in the country for 125 years when Hörður began experimenting with such techniques a few years ago. He also builds all the cameras and equipment he needs for this type of photography.

Here is a camera he built for stereoscopic photos.
